Amon Tobin- Journey Man

Amon Tobin, whose awesomeness clearly knows no bounds, has released another ground breaking new album titled 'Isam'.
Intricate, delicate, exotic, textural, compositionally adventurous, technically masterful and morbidly phat; you need to get this album and put on your headphones, close your eyes and be blown away.
Producers- don't despair too much upon hearing it. While your first response might be "This is bullshit.. I quit", pay all due respect to this digital demi-god who has set the new standard of what electronic music can be and let it inspire you to up the ante.

The awesomeness doesn't stop there. He has assembled a talented crew to create an elaborate set to tour with him, combining a sophisticated cubist construction with projected video art which is fittingly mind blowing to accompany his music.

Beach House- Silver Soul

Beach House, the gorgeous Baltimore dream-pop poster children, weave together 60's nostaglia, analogue synths, hypnotic, down-tempo rhythms and mind-gasmic lyrics in a swirling, heady cocktail that will lull you into another world.
Beach House [a.k.a. Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally], as scores of devoted fans around the world will emphatically attest, are out of the this world and if you live in Melbourne and [aren't a complete philistine*], you should check our their live show. They're playing at the HIFI Bar in Melbourne on the 25/1/11 and at Laneway Festival on the 5/2/11.

This song is not only awesome, it will give you an excuse to watch ladies clad in silver leotards hula-hooping in slow motion for 5:40.
They're with Mistletone, a label with exemplary taste that boast an impressive stable of interesting artists.

Bernie Sanders sticks it to the man.

In an epic rant totalling 8.5 hours, Vermont senator Bernie Sanders has filibusted his way into the history books and hearts and minds of common people.
Astoundingly foregoing the need to pee, he spoke red-faced, enraged and articulate, about the economic and social insanity of the proposed bill to extend major tax cuts for the mega rich in a bid to prevent it.
In a time of global financial crisis caused by the recklessness of the banks and Wall st. brokers who were bailed out to the tune of $11.6 trillion [which the tax payer and working people will have to pay for], it is definitely a bit rich that the richest .3 of 1% of the worlds wealthiest people should be getting tax breaks.
The cost of these tax breaks will again be shouldered by the people, and it would be health, education and social services that would be cut to fund it.
Bernie Sanders has my deepest respect and admiration for standing up for truth and justice- a shining and rare example of such amid a rotten core of corruption and self-interest.
Major Props..
